Famous DB architect Stonebraker throws down against Facebook/MySQL

Michael Stonebraker's "Ingres" database project at UC Berkeley in the was so popular, an "ingres" account was in the default password file of many freshly installed UNIX systems of the 1980s. Code derived from it is the basis of Microsoft SQL Server, and HP NonStop SQL. He then started the Postgres project around 1986 which is (surprise) the basis of today's PostgreSQL.

Recent slashdot article pointed me to an interview Stonebraker did with GigaOM's Michael Harris where he mentions his opinions on the fact that Facebook was built on MySQL.

One of the /. commenters with dissenting opinions includes a large scale database performance engineer who works at Facebook, Domas Mituzas.
